Part of our UKRI project, funded from the Enhancing Place Based Partnerships stream, this workshop was an opportunity to discuss community experiences of culture in and around Paisley and Renfrewshire.
The FESTSPACE project focused on how festivals and events enable or restrict access to, and use of, public spaces, looking at the extent to which they might effectively host interactions and exchanges between people from different cultural, ethnic, socio-economic and socio-demographic backgrounds.
We are interested in how the design and operation of urban festivals and events might help to dismantle existing divisions.
Dr Stephen Collins’ short film ‘James Town and Slavery’ was an official selection for the Changing The Story Online International FIlm Festival.
A short visual reminder of our launch event – a great opportunity to increase awareness of CCSE and its activities, bringing together stakeholders from across the Renfrewshire and Glasgow regions with policy makers, community members, creative industry and academic participants active locally and nationally.
