Legacy Network: Funders Meet and Greet (21st April 2026)

Reflecting on a fabulous evening at The Nook for the Glasgow 2026 Legacy Network Funders Meet and Greet, bringing together partners, funders, and network members to focus on turning legacy ideas into action.

The event was hosted by Kirsty McNab (Glasgow 2026), who opened the evening and welcomed attendees, followed by a warm introduction from Alex Cumming. A big thank you to Alex and Robert Nesbitt at Scottish Action for Mental Health for their support in having us at The Nook.

Callum McCloskey (CCSE) then shared the future direction of the Legacy Network, highlighting how we continue to build, learn and share in the lead up to the Games. He also highlighted the importance of capturing and evidencing impact across the network, ensuring that legacy activity is not only delivered but understood and sustained beyond the Games.

Callum stressing the importance of collaboration to attendees, alongside Alex Johnston (L) and Kirsty McNab (R).

Alex Johnston (Legacy Manager at Glasgow 2026) introduced the Funders Meet and Greet, leading into a lively marketplace session where the room was buzzing as members connected with funders, exchanged ideas, and explored opportunities to take projects forward. It was fantastic to have BBC Children in Need, Foundation Scotland, Inspiring Scotland, The National Lottery Community Fund, sportscotland and Corra Foundation in attendance supporting conversations on funding and collaboration.

We then moved into a fireside-style conversation with Professor Gayle McPherson (CCSE) and Emma Anderson (Movement for Health), who shared insights on Together We Move and its potential to drive social impact through collaboration and movement.

The session closed with reflections, looking ahead to the next stages of the Legacy Network and Glasgow 2026.

A brilliant evening with great energy throughout – and now looking forward to our next Legacy Network event, taking place on 26th May.This will be focused on Inclusive Legacy, hosted by us at UWS Paisley campus.
